A CNC Phase Converter Supplies Much Better Balanced Power Than The Static Phase Converters

Rotary Phase Converters Can Give True Three Power Which A Static Converter Cannot Produce

Power Converter
Review of power converters and the types that are available. We list the most common power converters used in today's market.

What Is A Power Converter ?
A power converter is a power supply device that delivers energy from an electrical outlet. There are many types of power converters on the market that can provide your equipment with the power that you need.

Rotary Phase Converter
Most widely used phase converter on the market today.  They supply three phase power from a single phase power source.

Static Phase Converters
The static phase converter is the oldest type of phase converter around. They only generate three phase power long enough to start your equipment.

CNC Phase Converters
The CNC phase converters are used mainly for computer generated and voltage sensitive equipment. They give your equipment much lower harmonic distortion.

Digital Phase Converters
The digital phase converter is all electronic and non-mechanical. They are known for their quietness and producing a balanced power load.

Three Phase Power
Three phase power is a very common form of electrical power.  There are many benefits from running your equipment or machinery on three phase power. It has many properties that make three phase power desirable with power distribution.

Single Phase Power
Single phase power is used mostly with lighting and heating in most residential and commercial areas in the USA.  Single phase power is used mainly when  three phase power is not available. Most equipment needs to run on three phase power rather than single phase power.

Static Phase Converters

The static phase converters have been around in the industry the longest of any phase converters on the market today.  Their job is to produce three phase power from your single phase power source like your outlets. The static phase converters basically have two components, a voltage sensitive relay and a standard capacitor.  The standard capacitor is connected to your equipment motor.  Unfortunately, on the static phase converter, the capacitor is only used to start your equipment or machinery and then the relay comes into play and disconnects the starter capacitor after your equipment is running. Which, in turn, is not providing your equipment the three phase power through the entirety of your equipment's operation. The static phase converter is known to be the least expensive phase converter on the market and this is the reason why.

It is not advised to use the static phase converter on larger equipment because it does a poor job of balancing you power on your equipment or machinery. With the static phase converter, you might receive harmonic distortion and vibrations in your equipment due to the unbalanced flow of power voltages.  They are basically used on much smaller equipment and you can only use the static phase converter on one piece of equipment at a time, unlike the rotary phase converter.  If you try to use the static phase converter on larger equipment you could end up with some costly damages to your equipment.  They Small Dough Mixers Can Use The Static Phase Converter For Power Needsare used mostly on machines like mixers, small milling machines, bench grinders, drill presses and other small applications.

It is very important that you know what your equipment needs to run on efficiently and cost effective.  The static phase converter is the least expensive phase converter on the market as far as purchase price but it can become the most expensive phase converter of all time if it is not powering your equipment correctly. Larger Equipment Should Be Run On A Rotary Converter Versus A Static Phase ConverterThe end result could be major damage to your equipment or you could have the expense of replacing your equipment and or downtime to your business while it is being repaired or replaced.  The static phase converter has a very short lifespan compared to a rotary phase converter.

Delta and the Wye wired are the two most common types of motors. If the internal wiring of the motor is a Delta, it most likely will not run with a static phase converter. Most Delta motors will only run on a rotary phase converter. A Wye motor can also run on a rotary converter. The rotary phase converter takes that single phase power and converts it into three phase power and not just for the startup of the equipment.  It gives you that continuous flow of power that you need to power your equipment.

Now that you know that the rotary phase converter is basically better for your equipment ACE Phase Converter Technicians Can Help You Solve Your Static Phase Converter Problemspower needs rather than the static phase converter, ACE Phase converter is the company to look into. They have technicians on the spot that will check out your equipment and find the proper phase converter to fit your needs.
